hey, just wanting to share, my dad started to have stroke like symptoms this a.m. Come to find out, about 7 weeks ago, he had fallen and hit his head. He did not think did not or tell us.
He had a subdural hematoma, they placed shunt to relieve the pressure, and is in ICU, now. he is talking better, and able to move his right side again.
My mom is doing well. I am glad I live a few blocks away to help. My sisters live in other states.

Scary, isn't it, when our parents suddenly become.... human. Weren't they once lofty and invulnerable? Weren't they going to be around forever? (And weren't we, like, six?)Good luck to your dad.

So sorry to hear about your father. I know how tough this can be.
My father was like a force of nature. He hit 80, and it hit him back... HARD. The decline continues to be most distressing.
Best wishes for the best outcome!

Hang in there. It's always tough when your parent is not well. I'm thinking good thoughts for you and your family/friends.

Glad to hear he's doing better. Enjoy them while you can. I lost my Father earlier this year and I miss him like crazy.

Talking about seeing your parents as human, my son's were out of their minds with concern seeing him laying on the hospital bed. He told them after the surgery, "I am glad I am here, now I won't have to give out all that Dam candy at Halloween."
Him saying that lifted all our spirits.
