Maybe Jim Lee got the idea while he was doing his podcast with Kevin Smith.

I really, really do not like that redesign of Harley Quinn.

My response to smoking is simple: human lungs (or those of any animal) aren't meant to hold in billions of soot and smoke particles which could do damage over time, to the effect that they could develop cancer from whatever source is in all of that. It's a stupid human trick to think that doing so makes one hip, cool or relaxed.

I'm just one of those old crumudgeons out there who remembers the good old days when everything seemed fine, and wonders where it all went bad. The comicbook industry seems to be full of people who make fools of themselves trying to stay on the edge, only to find that that train left the station decades ago.

With the way the comics industry is now, I'm kinda surprised it wasn't a scratch 'n sniff of her crotch.

Second month in a row I forgot to read the Previews catalogue.
I wonder the reasons.

Sigh.

I guess it was about a year and a half ago, DC was going to do these
gatefold covers, that when opened would give you a shocking twist to
the image. I assume a story point inside the book. On the cover visible
upon purchase, was supposed to be the text abbreviation, WTF. There
was such a stink that DC pulled the WTF off the covers before seeing
print. I actually have a bigger problem with this, than I did that.

I don't know who comes up with this garbage. Is it Diane Nelson, Dan
Didio, Jim Lee, Bob Harras or Bobbie Chase? I'm upset right now,
because one or more of these people is/are taking up valuable oxygen
from the rest of us. Edgy, I don't mind if it's done intelligently, if it has
a point to make or a message to deliver. While I haven't seen the
book, I think it's a safe bet it doesn't.

But will heads roll for it? I don't think so. They've been getting away with it for so long that I don't think enough people are left in the position to care. Most of those who would have voted with their wallets and gone elsewhere.

I think that the Hollywood money and licensing royalties are the only thing holding the Big Two up right now. It's like having the rich uncle giving you handouts. No matter how much you screw around, you know you're going to get the helping hand. The problem is when the rich uncle is gone, how long does it take for you to burn through the trust fund he leaves behind?
