One of big news from NY Comic Con was that Marvel's 2015 Big Event is going to be... SECRET WARS!

Hey wait, didn't that happen already? Like 30 years ago? I'm pretty sure I was around that when I was a kid.

The House of Ideas indeed...

They should have gone back a bit more and just done Contest of Champions.

Tried a few times to have my stepson read Secret Wars because he reads so many graphic novels (and it's hard to keep up with him). He is nine and he wouldn't do it. That tells you something right there.

in a world where movies and TV shows get rebooted much more frequently, I don't see this as any different.

They already did. It was beyond horrible.

They're also redoing CIVIL WAR already aaand now there's something called "Years of Future Past" coming our (well, your) way.

In the MU editorial offices, the saying goes, "Those who remember the past are doomed to repeat it. Again and again and again."

I gave up Marvel a while ago but the news seems to indicate there is a thing called Time Runs Out coming up. Sounds like the end of that will lead to this retread of these older stories (Civil War an older story, Huh Huh)

The premise might be interesting when looked at like that but the execution will most likely be horrible. The premise of Secret Invasion was interesting but the fact that the 8 part mini series resolved the issue in one day and by Norman Osborne saving the day no less tells you everything you need to know about the execution.

Doesn't make it a good thing.

And one thing is rehashing old storylines. Another thing is that it qualifies as major news at a convention.
