Lloyd - My cat Tom is in failing health, so I can understand what you're going through (he is my sixth cat - so I have been through the experience of making that painful decision).
Just remember the good times and when the time is right, think about getting another cat - there are so many out there that need a good home!

I lost my cats twenty years ago. There was a nice calico cat who ran away or someone took him...I have a hard time believing he didn't like me because I fed him and loved the cat with all my heart. The other one was a cute black cat straight out of one of those cartoons of a classic black cat on Halloween. That one passed from feline AIDS and it broke my heart to have her put down. I was there for her and held her in my arms as she slipped away. It hurts for me just to write about ....however I know what you must be going through. My condolences on your loss. Every cat or dog has an animal personality all their own. Cherish and remember the good times.

Been there, too. So incredibly hard.
Very sorry. Peace to you, Lloyd.
