"ASTRO CITY # 17
BATMAN 66 MEETS GREEN HORNET # 6 (of 6)
BATMAN 66 THE LOST EPISODE # 1 (one-shot) – Garcia-Lopez"

All these are on my list from Westfield Comics, as well as a few others; alas, the monthly shipment hasn't arrived yet.

I loved the art for the Two Face comic but it didn't feel like a "lost
episode" of the BATMAN series. It had the tone of a "new look" comic
more than Dozier's series.

I would say that's a good thing. The comic version of the '66 show WAS the "new look" Batman. The show was an adaptation of the comics no the other way around... so the idea of a retro based on the tv show which was based on comics is a little too meta-fictional for my taste. I'd rather see more like this.

Got Spider-Woman #1. What a mess. A first issue that's based on being in the middle of a storyline in another book with a bunch of characters that I have no real clue who they are and doesn't tell us anything about who the title character actually is.

Astro City was great as usual though. A one issue story that carries more depth, story and pathos than six issues of any other book.

The one thing that grabs me about Garcia-Lopez's art in this book is
just how good the storytelling is. I really believe the Big Two should
fire about 90% of there writers and artists, letting some of the older
folks who know how to tell a story, back on regular monthlies. Many
modern artists may make pretty pictures but comics have never looked
more boring and stagnate as a whole.

Though it was issued last week I hadn't read Batman 36 until today.
And I couldn't help smiling with certain satisfaction when Batman said about the Joker:
"Listen to me. He's not crazy. He's just evil."

Justice League 36: Man, I like Jason Fabok more and more.
Daredevil 10: This is one of my favourite current superhero comics, but I still haven't read this issue.
Batman Eternal 33: I kind of hate this is a weekly title; too much to read, and most of it very good.
Superman and Wonder Woman 13: I'll give this a try after dropping it during the Superman Doom crossover. But if Tony Daniel is not part of it anymore I might drop it again.

I haven't taken Amazing Spider-man this week. I'm a little fed up with crossovers.
