One of the many unanswered questions I have about the wonderful world of Danger Unlimited was the nature of the "powers" of Caucus.  I understand that Professor Palmenter was exposed to the alien "junk" and split into three identical copies, but how does that make him a superhero?  How did you envision using him in future stories?

As always, thanks for your time.

The ability to be in three places at once seems kinda superhero-ish to me!

At some point, would the three start to develop different personalities?

Not personalities, per se, but they would begin to "grow apart." Altho they were still essentially one mind, each iteration would begin to have independent experiences.

I believe we were already starting to see the very beginnings of that in the few issues we got.

Would that be similar to the Dr Dooms Robot versions of himself. In-so-far as they act exactly like him and yet have separate experiences that they report back on?

I really loved the glimpse of the old adventures of Danger Unlimited and seeing Doc Danger's metamorphosis into that giant head.

Yes and no. Each iteration of Caucus would be aware of the experiences of the other, so no actual "report" would be needed. But, since each was not directly experiencing what the others did, the effect in terms of possible modification of thought patterns would be different.

One of the things I wanted to play with was the idea that when the brains were separated by larger distances, the mind started to "thin out," so each Caucus has to be careful how far he got from the others.

Interesting. Presumably then the others would be aware of this effect in some manner by the lack of (whats the right word here?) 'feedback'?

They'd each be affected in the same way, with a kind of "alzheimers." If two were close to each other, it might "buffer" them against the full effect being experienced by the third, but not much.

I wasn't sure yet whether there would be any permanent effects, long term.

Hey, Darren, as long as you're here. . .

What's a good G-Rated insulting word a Scotsman might use to describe someone who was not a Scotsman? In one of the current issues of NEW VISIONS I have Scotty refer to another character as a "sassenach," but that't really English specific, isn't it?
