I know that we still had an automat (I want to say that it was a Horn & Hardarts), here in Philly up through the mid or late 70's...I went there once when I was a kid, but I don't recall anything other than the spaghetti being terrible.

The reason for the automat question came from watching DARK CITY. At one point, John enters one to get his wallet back. I realized that this was a place I've never experienced. Seems unlikely that I ever will. The 30's and 40's have been a time of interest for me, so I thought I'd ask you fine folks to see if one still exists.
