Recently read the Showcase collection of the 60's comics and the writers seemed to struggle with the concept.

Terrific job given the format. I agree with JB that this character would be great with a background.

I'm also surprised that so many people don't seem to know the character.
I would guess it's because Eclipso is mainly used in stories these days by possessing the body of another character as a host through his jewel. That may be why people are not familiar with the original body.
