I love the FF ARTIST EDITION from IDW. a MUST own for any Byrne fan.

The splash where Galactus falls really impacted me as a young reader. I wasn't familiar with many artists at the time, but I knew right away this guy was amazing!

I have often wondered if it was John Byrne the WRITER who made that panel as memorable as so many fans think it is. The drawing itself is really quite simple, but I did the best I could to have the script build to that moment.

I think that you are right - "GALACTUS FALLS!" was technically
redundant scripting, but in this case it really sold the significance of
what was happening.
