Oh, wow...
Met him once when I was a kid at a con. I didn't know a lot about his work then, at least outside of his Hulk run. I remember him being warm and friendly as I probably asked him the stupidest questions.
RIP

So sad to hear this, dear Herb was one of the best. Growing up seeing his art in so many of the British reprint comics was always so exciting, and when paired with John Severin was simply amazing. And of course he was the first to bring us that great unknown, Wolverine. So thank you Herb for all the wonderful years of amazing comics, R.I.P.

There goes another name I've known since I was a kid.

Sad to hear… we've lost another artist from those amazing, classic years of Marvel Comics Group. He was definitely one of the INCREDIBLE HULK's defining artists with such a memorable run on the book.
RIP

RIP. I only recently learned how to pronounce his name (apparently it rhymes with shrimp-e).

I am sorry and saddened to read this. I planned to go to ECCC this past weekend, but once again, life got in the way. Now I wish I went more than ever. I have had the pleasure of meeting Herb and his wife, even spoke to her about hiring her for a Spanish teaching job, and I proudly own a fine collection of his artwork which I will showcase tomorrow on Comic Book Club. Rest in peace, Herb trimpe. You will be missed.
