I'd have bought that instantly.

EPIC.

Oh, and wreckage silhouette to frame the action.  And imply previous action.  And reinforce the mood.  That's brilliant.

I envisioned this with a complex Kirbyesque background, but after the figures were inked I decided the stark silhouettes would push 'em forward better.

Man, this looks like it could have appeared as a late-70s issue! The one
and only anachronism is the WOLVERINE logo, which didn't exist until
the Claremont/Miller mini.

My favorite detail is the "2015 Marvel Comics Group" in the corner box.

It's weird that Marvel Two-in-One only featured one X-Men team-up over the course of 100 issues, and it was with Iceman, who was probably with the Defenders around that time.  I wonder if that was just a coincidence, or if Chris Claremont or his editors were reluctant to loan them out for guest appearances in the early eighties.

Awesome !!! You must have seen it by now, JB, but you forgot to blacken the top of Wolvie's boot.

Noted in my first post, right beneath the drawing.

Hard to list all that's anachronistic in this image! There are many elements from many periods -- not the least of which is my own artistic style! I certainly didn't draw like this in the Seventies.

The composition is so clear and interesting, despite how 'busy' the action is.

Gah, you're disgustingly talented!

JB, awesome work (love the new stuff!).  I'm curious about your creative process. Was there a reason you picked Master Mold from the 3 choices?
