I'm kind of afraid that Trump might be on the road to becoming the Ross Perot of this election -- and that is the kind of distraction we DON'T need.•• I voted for Ross Perot as "None of the Above." I could not see voting for Trump even on those grounds!

My co-workers are fans and asked if I'm going to vote for Trump.
I told them I'm pretty sure no one is as I'm quite certain he won't make it onto the general election ballot.
Didn't make any new friends that day.
This was before the McCain thing.

I can't see Trump lasting long as a third-party candidate. As I said, the only reason he's polling at his current level is that no one has seriously attacked him. And by attack, I don't mean wanly criticizing things he has said recently. I mean digging up skeletons in his closet related to profligate lifestyle, affairs, draft deferments, shady business dealings, near bankruptcies, etc... and then doing extensive TV commercials trumpeting all those things. A majority of the people who are currently telling pollsters they support Trump are not even aware of his history. His support will disappear when he is seriously examined and attacked.

Trump's a joke.
Jeb Bush has money, a name, a legacy, and he led swing-state Florida and he's got Texas, and he has a wife from Mexico, and he's a Catholic at a time when the current Pope is hip and hot, so he's got Jesus, but not the Evangelical version, which turns off a segment of voters, etc. I think he's got a terrific chance.

Barring unforeseen death or scandal, it seems clear the next President will be either Clinton or the winner between Bush/Walker/Rubio. Everything else is just noise.

Jeb Bush --- third time's the charm?I don't really know much about him, but what I know does not fill me with confidence.

I'll just go and say it: Trump will either win the Republican nomination, or run as an independent. He presses all the right buttons for right-wing conservatives, and then some buttons they didn't even know they had.

Sadly, I think Jeb is the most reasonable Republican in the race. Kasich is rather moderate, despite attacking teachers some 6 years ago, so he'd be my only other Republican possibility.
In other words, it's Hillary's to lose...though she could blow it. (And all Bernie Sanders is doing is making Hillary look like a moderate.)

There is absolutely no chance Trump will win the Republican nomination. None. Zero. It's just not going to happen. I wouldn't totally put it past him to run a vanity third party campaign, but if he does he will be a non-factor, someone lucky to garner 1-2% of the votes.

Personally, I don't want to see another Bush or Clinton in the White House. The presidency isn't supposed to be something to be passed around between two families.
