Aparo is also "my" Batman artist. He was the artist during my time
collecting that title. Brief as that time was, I was lucky enough to catch
the second and third parts of The Many Deaths of the Batman( unlucky
enough to miss the famous first part of that story though.)

Speaking of that book, this is how Google lists the credits-
The Many Deaths of the Batman
Book by Adrienne Roy, Bob Kane, John Byrne, John Costanza, and
Mike De Carlo.
More than a little strange, no?

To me, Aparo was for Batman what Sal Buscema was for Spider-Man. The guy who did dozens of stories, but was never considered one of the greats.
With Neal Adams and Don Newton, my favorite regular Batman artist.

What a shame that is about Aparo never drawing Spider-Man.

The B&B cover 118 is my favorite of his Batman work.

I think I'm gonna dig up my copy of DC SHOWCASE: THE SPECTRE
and re-read all those great Fleisher/Aparo stories.
