JB, if the stars aligned, would you want to try your hand at the FF again?

The easiest answer is no.

I'd buy new JB FANTASTIC FOUR comics in a heartbeat.

I'd be overjoyed should he and IDW decide to produce more COLD
WAR, TRIO or TRIPLE HELIX.

There's a bit of hope in JB's answer. At least that's what I want to read into it.

Dont. The easy answer is no because the less easy answer is listing the 4287 reasons why this ain't gonna happen.

It's funny, I reread FF 258-260 yesterday, reflecting what a perfect comic story it was (and how today's creative teams would've wrecked it lol).

I'm just grateful for that stack of Byrne FF awesomeness that I can revisit any old time!

Even if the right conditions existed for JB to return to Marvel, I would think it would be in his best interest to not return to books he had worked on previously. Better off to do a SHIELD, Dr. Strange, or Daredevil stint.

Personally, I would love to see him take over Dr. Strange and have the FF make a guest appearance on the last page of his first issue ;)

I have just reread Byrne's F4 because his run has been reprinted in Spain in 4 vol.

Marvel would probably mandate 22 pages of talking heads an issue. No action until issue 11 of a 12 part story...you know, for "the trades".

Best to leave some things in the past, I think. Current state of Marvel would surely make it impossible for John to have a good time doing it. And I fear that would have to show in the work. I just can't envision Marvel letting him tell good stories. I'd love to see the Mouse House reach out once they get those movie rights back though. There is some appetite for telling all ages stories over that way. Maybe when they start asking what they can do differently the next time around, someone will have the sense to suggest seeking help from a guy that knows how to write these characters' stories.

Thanks for answering, JB. My question arises from a sense that Marvel has abandoned their "first family," amid an underwhelming movie and a book that seems to have limped along on the edge of profitability. I really wish the Fantastic Four would come back, but I don't see that happening and it's pretty sad.

Oddly enough, my question above was post 4321. How weird!
