JB, seems like Walt Langkowski had quite a back story before turning into a big furry dude. Were there any parts of his background--like being a pro football player--you might have liked to explore further in ALPHA FLIGHT?

Asking because he's probably my favorite character on the team, rivaled by Guardian.

Thanks!

I wish I could roll out the goodies for you, but I tended to invent that stuff on the fly. I did not have a detailed plan worked out for Walt or any of the Alphas. So, if you've read the books, you probably know more than I do, time and memory being what they are.

In Ant-Man, Hank Pym holds up a newspaper article that mentions a Sasquatch.

...

Alpha Flight was the first thing I thought of when I saw that.

Hm, is THAT why I get a credit in the Ant-Man movie?

I think you get credit for the generic Scott Lang origin story using elements from books you worked on back in the day.  Sort of a catch-all "if they worked on it, credit them" sort of thing.

BUT -- I did see that Sasquatch newspaper and giggled a little at the thought of what Marvel was perhaps trying to do.   There was a throw away line in Agents of Shield about Canada having a "situation" under control without SHIELD involvement.  I think it was first half of season 1.

Is Alpha Flight tied to the X-Men? Who has the movie rights?

Did you mean "generic" or "basic"? The movie is pretty similar in the origin to the comic. and I don't feel either was a generic origin for a superhero.

JB, you were the first artist to draw Scott Lang, so I am thinking that is why you get a credit. Did you have a hand in the creation of Ant-Man II other than the visuals?
