I know Crumb mostly from the documentary on him, I'm not sure if some of his subject matter is to my taste.

Anyway happy birthday to a stellar talent.

Growing up with hippie parents I saw his work everywhere, but it wasn't until the documentary that I understood there was a person, eccentric as all get out, doing that work and doing LOTS of it.

Wow - one year younger than my dad!

You wouldn't know it from the stuff that he's best known for, but Crumb ended up as possibly the most skilled pen & ink renderers in the history of the medium.
