JB, did you have an idea of how your series would flow into GSX-M1?

JB, did you have an idea of how your series would flow into GSX-M1?••• I planned to end my final issue with the original team racing out the door, bound for Krakoa.

Dang. Out of all the cancelled series left hanging over the years, this one pissed me off the most.

I would have been happy if it had just gotten to the special Phoenix issue, with Terry Austin inking!
(...was that going to be issue #25..? I forget)
Continuing after that would have been even better..!

Hey Andrew (or anyone who knows), What's the story about the "special Phoenix issue, with Terry Austin inking". I never heard about that. I would love info on it. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I'd like to hear about that, too! I have no memory of it!

I recall JB saying there would be a special issue (an annual?) showing the "full version" of what happened when the Silver Surfer sensed Dark Phoenix emerging. But I don't recall Terry being named to ink it.

The hidden issue numbers on the covers were the only reason I thought the series was going to end with "93." What would have happened after issue 27? Would you just have dropped the hidden numbering or did you have another plan in mind?

hmm, I was concerned with JB's reaction, but glad Laren also remembered what little I did too (an expansion of what happened with the Silver Surfer when the Dark Phoenix first appeared).
My memory is also that Austin had been lined up, or possibly was being asked to, ink the story.

Dim bells are ringing. This was a story I'd come up with several years earlier. It was floating around in my head and I thought it might make an "annual." And, yes, I think there had been some talk of Terry inking it.

I recall that you had considered having Northstar and/or Aurora make an appearance in a future issue.
