Been very busy calling all my friends and relatives, some of whom live very nearby the places where some attacks took place. Fortunately, it's all ok for them.
But at least one place, a concert theater, The Bataclan, is still under siege with a hostage crisis. And I am not sure any of the terrorists have been apprehended or neutralised yet.
From accounts of people who managed to flee the Bataclan, 4 or 5 guys entered with automatic weapons and shouted "god is great" in arabic before firing.
Others fired on multiple terrasses of restaurants, and at least 3 bombs including a suicide bomber at the Stade de France where there was a soccer game France - Germany.
The reports say there are at least 40 dead and 60 wounded, but I am sure it will be much worse in the morning.
Horrible, horrible...

I hope that the people responsible are held accountable. So terrible.

Horrible, scary.

There is the old saying that money is the root of all evil, but it seems to me that munitions facilitates much of the world's evil. I'd like to see a world in which munitions manufacturers were held to close account for where their weapons ended up. Is it too hard to try and tighten up on this?

Fingers crossed for the hostages and the security forces trying to sort out the situation.

A red letter day for the NRA. "Look! This happened in a country where the government makes it hard for civilians to get guns!"

Horrific. I know some people from Paris but I'm assuming they're not
there right now. I'll have to check.

To any and all of the good people of Paris, my best wishes and my
hopes that the worst is behind us.

Police and army killed the terrorists at the Bataclan.
Reports have been updated.
At least 120 dead, 80 of them killed at the Bataclan.

It will be worse tomorrow.

I'm in Paris right now, working on a large corporate event. I was walking back to the hotel earlier and everyone in the bars and on the streets was talking normally. Just after I got back I started hearing the news so it must have been happening while I was on my way. We're a little bit further out but in the 19th district which is quite close to the 10th and 11th. We're working in the Parc de la Villette which contains a number of arts venues which could easily have been chosen as targets. I'm hoping all the other crew members are okay, not to mention the 5,000+ attendees who were going to be out and about all over Paris tonight. Not sure what will happen tomorrow which is the final day. Due to travel home on Monday at the moment.

CNN's latest is now saying 153 dead. A staggering number.

My favorite city in the world, with so many beautiful sights and people.  Heartbreaking.
