I love dogs. I just don't want to OWN any!
Yet my wife continues to bring home a new dog every few years. I guess George Carlin said it best:
"Life... is a series of dogs!"

I've been partial towards Border Collies. I just love the way they look and they are highly intelligent....though I just know already that I'd never be able to keep up with owning one.

German Shepherd's are my dog. Until 2 years age we had a GSD as a family member for 20 years (2 dear friends). It may take some time before I'm ready for that emotional attachment and inevitable heartbreak.

My neighbour had a Border Collie. Very friendly - and looked after her cats!

I'd love a British Bulldog or a Doberman.

Our current four-legged family member is a Boston Terrier, and I can't imagine ever having another breed now - personality through the roof!

after 15 years of marriage my wife, a dog-hater, let me get a 5 week old beagle puppy for my birthday. He has been my constant companion for ten years now. He is loving and loyal, to the point I can't even leave the room without him chasing after me and whining. Being a hound dog he barks a lot, catches scents and runs off, and frankly eats a lot of garbage off the ground. But he is the best dog I've ever had. I've said after he's gone I won't get another dog, it would just be a pale imitation.

He has been my constant companion for ten years now. He is loving and loyal, to the point I can't even leave the room without him chasing after me and whining. •• My Golden, Sam, was like that. It became something of a problem when he got old and his legs were not all they had once been. If I forgot to turn off the lights in the Studio at the end of the workday I would trot downstairs to get them, and despite my telling him to "stay!" he would trundle down the stairs after me -- and sometimes he would fall, headfirst. Finally it dawned on me to see if it was possible to have a second set of light switches installed at the top of the stairs. It was!
