Uh oh I hope I didn't waste the money buying a ticket if you don't go. Of
course, I totally understand NYC would be much more convenient for
you. But selfishly I hope you end up at the Vegas con.

I've been aware of and following John Byrne and his career since at least 1982, when I was only 10. As much as I was a comic book nut in my youth, I never really attended any proper conventions, and by the time I discovered the JBForum (and rediscovered why I loved the work of John Byrne in the first place), his convention appearances were rapidly winding down, if not already kaput.

I live in CT., so if he makes an NYC appearance instead, I may get a (slim) chance at finally shaking this guy's hand and telling him "Thank you!"

:)

That's pretty much how I feel about the Vegas con. A chance to say
thank you in person for many years of entertainment. Ah well, whatever
will be, will be.

Worst case scenario, Glenn. Flip the ticket on eBay. It is an official sell
out. I'm sure there is someone who would pay a premium for a ticket.

I fixed the link. Star Trek Mission

I'll add this to my list of possible conventions

That's true Paul. We'll see what JB decides first. Thanks for the suggestion though.

JB, I think you should go to the convention that most appeals to you. If you do New York, I will do everything to make it, although it is a busy time at work for me in September.I have never been to a Star Trek convention, so the Las Vegas show looks to be The Big One.

The guest list is amazing - William Shatner, Walter Koenig, George Takei, and Nichelle Nichols will all be there. And they just added Kirstie Alley and Whoopi Goldberg. I'm excited for the TNG cast as well - I just wish Patrick Stewart would be there. This could be a convention that you could enjoy as a both a fan and pro, JB!

Is anyone making it to the Comic Art Con in NJ this Sunday?

I believe Jim Warden is going to be there. I keep thinking I need to make the trip, but something always interferes.

I had marked it in my schedule months ago and really wanted
to go, but I've had many things taking my away from the
house recently and so may skip it.

I'll be at SPACE in Columbus on the 9th and 10th of April. It's FREE admission this year, so it's a great chance check out all the neat independent comics and see me get my award!

I live in CT also, and I'm hoping my only convention will be the major Connecticut convention up at Mohegan Sun. My daughter and I went to the NYCC on Thursday (the only day that didn't instantly sell out!!) and even that day was too crowded for me.
