18" x 24" illustration of Iron Fist vs. The Golden Tigers gang members with backgrounds; the details are:

- please draw Iron Fist in a pose similar to that in the following commission:

http://www.artofjohnbyrne.com/gallery/commissions/commission s-large/commissions-large2009/2009-01-21_153031_BattleA.jpg. php

- background, your choice of subway or NYC streets/alley (night time setting)

Strange flashback working on this one. It seemed, back in the day, that NO one "got" that I intended the Tiger masks to be flat, just printed on the cloth and not sculpted or embossed. I even had people telling me how "badly" I had drawn them because they didn't look how Dave Cockrum had protrayed them on the cover! People there assuming, of course, that the covers come first!

(My email is malfunctioning at the moment -- I can receive but not send -- so it may be a while before I can send the large scan to Dan.)

Love how you handled the texture moving from light to shadow.
Can't wait for the big one!

So amazing.... I love the sense of movement. It feels like the artwork wants to burst into motion!

I thought Iron Fist was pretty cool, right from my first exposure to him,
but I've come to be a real fan simply through his commission
appearances!

Seriously, this may be the finest background you've ever done. Did you use photo reference or did that come out of your head??

Either way, it's jaw-droppingly good. The way the track veers round and disappears off into the distance almost makes me feel woozy and the grubby textures make it all look so real!
