That's really interesting-- are there changes in the process or approach that cause it to take longer, JB?

There are no black filled areas, for a start. Almost (almost!) every square inch has to have lines filling up the spaces!

I was expecting the lack of black areas to save time. I did not consider that something else would have to fill that space!

I've got my crayons ready!
I really like the idea that there is a narrative to this book, albeit a loose one. JB has broken a lot of ground in his career, and it would be fun to see the first movie with this credit:
"Based on the coloring book by John Byrne"

end up sold through Jim Warden...will the buyer(s)
colour them? ;)

There have been professional colorists who, over the years, have turned a tidy profit hand coloring original comic art. First time someone showed me one was at a con, and it was like being punched in the gut.

I wish I could!We see in this a deep lack of artistic understanding in many who fancy themselves art collectors. These are the people who get inkers to "finish" pencil drawings, completely failing to appreciate how rare and special pencils are. (It's not instinctive. I had to learn it myself.) Some of these even have the inkers make CHANGES to the drawings.! Infidels!

I would hope with current computer coloring techniques that
wouldn't happen. If the owner of the piece trusted the
colorist, just let him borrow it to make a scan. Then you
could have two pieces of art to frame side by side.
