My piano is a SteiNWAY, from their Boston Brand.

I've heard it said artists and creative people make better spies because they often come up with uncommon, obscure ways to couch messages hidden in the everyday.  When I read sentences like yours above, I wonder how much subtext and intent is laced hidden in the media we consume of which we are completely unaware.  Why is the Mona Lisa smiling?

This piece is DEAD on! Really awesome! And Deadman is
totally the Fugitive. Who remembers Jose Luis Garcia-
Lopez' Deadman mini-series? Deadman hasn't looked this
good since then!

Love this piece and I know next to nothing about the character but this makes me want to buy Deadman comics.

…this makes me want to buy Deadman comics.

••

The original series was a departure from conventional comics. As noted, it derived a lot from THE FUGITIVE, in this case with it being the murder victim himself who is seeking the "one armed man" -- literally. The guy has a hook for a hand.

Boston Brand -- whose first name had quotation marks around it until we met his twin brother Cleveland! -- jumps from person to person, taking them over, thru a series of soap opera style stories much like QUANTUM LEAP. Main difference was that we saw the people themselves, not Deadman, in each inhabitation.

The character was brought back several times after the original series, tho none of those were, in my opinion, as successful as the first time. (Yes, including when I used him in GENERATIONS.)

I had the pleasure of meeting Arnold Drake (for the benefit of you young'uns, he created Deadman and Doom Patrol) a couple of times-- he was good friends with my best friend's dad. Great storyteller. Said one time he really wished he'd had the opportunity to do more with Deadman because there was a lot of stuff he'd laid the seeds for that never had the chance to bloom. A lot about Eastern mysticism, for one thing. Makes me wonder what Deadman would have become if he'd had the chance to finish his story.

UPDATED to correct the good Mr. Drake's name. Clearly the coffee was not firing the brain cells this morning! Yikes!

Historical accuracy, that was Arnold Drake. Stan Drake created JULIET JONES.

Nice. You do great graveyards.

If you ever had to do a commission of a zombie Iron Fist this would be a good reference.

Add me to the list of people who'd like a DEADMAN series.

Great commission, so eerie and intense!
