Thought I would post this as it does contain some JB art and a interesting article about Mark Gruenwald on page 26.
Note - this was/is a free magazine.

Note that alternate covers, including the one that uses JB's art, are not free!

I'm struck by the mention in the Gruenwald article about how important it was for him to answer fan letters and that he knew how important it could be to fans. When I was a teenager, I got my first paying art gig--spot illustrations for a small press paperback--but I had no idea what to charge per pic! I did what any other teenager in my situation would do--I called up Marvel Comics in New York and asked the receptionist if anybody there could help me! I probably expected to be hung up on, but instead, next thing I knew, Mark Gruenwald was on the phone trying to help me! Of course, he was also trying to guard the company by not revealing what they paid freelancers! I don't know if the phone call helped any (I under charged), but I will always remember how the nice Marvel Comics editor took 5 or 10 minutes out of his day to try to help a fan!
And I WAS a fan! I loved his issues of SPIDER-WOMAN (a quirky favorite of mine) and wished he could have spent ten years on her book too! I wasn't buying when he did CAP--I guess I have a lot of reading to catch up on!

Eric, Mark'S run, IIRC, started with 307 and ran forever. My personal opinion is that up to issue 350, there is some great things going on. I felt the book lost steam after that, but I know many who continued to enjoy it. Definitely worth the read.

I picked the version with the JB cover off the rack, and when I paid for it at the register, the clerk slipped a free version in the bag. So, basically, JB's cover cost ten bucks!
