I feel like Mastermind after JB puts on another demo of his artistic mastery.

What a impressive piece! The extreme low angle shot is spectacular, your inking with the dramatic shadowing on the ceiling and Jean's face is marvelous, and the range of textures, from a the worn clothes of Mastermind to the tight wrinkles in Black Queen's sexy outfit, are all inked so confidently yet varied... and what about the nice rich dark folds of her cape! Whenever it's a X-Men piece it multiples my enjoyment of the art by 10! Thanks to John and the commissioner for this brilliant piece!!! WOW!

Like many, I really enjoy the angle.  The inks also add to the sense of darkness and power.

One of the first things I picked up from Neal Adams might very well have been rain on glass. I've modified my approach over the years, but underneath I'm still remembering the opening splash of "The Joker's Five Way Revenge".

(There's some beautifully done rain on glass in ZOOTOPIA that immediately made me think of Neal!)

JB, this is a gorgeous piece of work.

I can't help wondering if this type of commission is one that you really relish, where the requestor simply states a scene and lets you go at it with minimal prompts or "guides."

I -- and others -- have noted many a time that the best results are achieved by letting me do what I do, rather than the customer trying to "write" the piece.
