Where was the NRA's "good guy with a gun"?
Edited for wrong link.

The "good guy" didn't have a gun. Her brother tackled the shooter before he could hurt anyone else (other than himself). We point this out over and over: The bad guys with guns strike first. That's why they're "bad guys."

It is sad that someone intent on killing another human being has so many choices with which to commit the crime. As heroic as Grimmie's brother was during the murder, I don't think he saved anyone. The murderer seemed intent with taking his own life after he had murdered Grimmie.
A small victory in California for regulating some aspect of guns:

After what happened to Dimebag during a Damageplan concert years ago, and now this, I'm beginning to think they should set up metal detectors at concert venues, AND have armed security scattered throughout the location, including in plain sight near the stage.
Also, pardon my language, but fuck the NRA.

That's why they're "bad guys."•• Inherent in the NRA's philosophy is that "good guys" will be able to use their guns defensively, ie, that they will be able to shoot (if necessary) before the "bad guys." Sadly, as this tragedy demonstrates, the "good guys" are usually able only to respond to something that has already happened. Most often meaning someone is already dead.

Yeah, the good guys aren't able to use them PROactively, onay REactively. Something, I'm sure, the NRA really doesn't want out there.

The NRA and other gun idolaters want us to believe we live in a world where guns are perfectly safe unless they are improperly handled. "Improperly" here meaning used by bad people, or crazy people, or unsupervised children, or improperly supervised children, or pretty much anyone who uses a gun in a manner that makes these machines designed to KILL appear UNsafe.

Quite the serious article. Too bad it ended with "and showing that people who attempt suicide with a firearm are much more likely to succeed at killing themselves. Since most people who attempt suicide and fail don’t try again, the means used on "the first try is rather critical.

Can't anyone just press for the Second Amendment to be revised ?
If I follow correctly, it was ratified in 1791 to cover rights to the arming of a "well-regulated" militia, which - at the time - was likely a major concern in the US ; but that was 225 years ago.
A militia is a group that's called upon to enter combat in the stead of a professional armed force ; is the argument here seriously that ordinary citizens need to keep their own guns in case the huge armed forces that the US has fail for some reason ?
I understand there are vested interests here in terms of gun manufacturers and the NRA, doubtless donating large amounts of money to the political elite, but - given the number of gun deaths - a time must surely come that someone has to make a stand ?

I think the NRA and those to the right of the NRA actually view the Second Amendment as a sort of self-destruct clause of the government. They fantasize about seizing power with all the awesome Smith and Wesson© products they've hoarded and restoring a "real America". While its highly unlikely that could happen, the Second Amendment is certainly wreaking destruction in the lives of ordinary people.

Can't anyone just press for the Second Amendment to be revised ?••• I'm surprised the gun manufacturers and gun shop owners haven't done exactly that. Sales would go thru the roof!
