Well, an AoS - GHOST RIDER? teaser went up today, causing all sorts of speculation.

I, for one, would love to see a proper Ghost Rider debut and then possibly move to Netflix (if that sort of thing is a viable option). Then again, I could handle a regular TV show about Ghost Rider. Shows like X-Files, Fringe, and Supernatural handle horror themes quite well.

Ghost Rider doesn't have to be that grim & gritty or super violent. Thoughts?

I'm guessing that means Hellfire is going to become a regular. I think
Ghost Rider would be saved for Netflix.

Remember how back during "The Incredible Hulk" series, it was pretty much a mandate that Banner had to Hulk-out about twice per episode?

If they make a "Ghost Rider" series, my vote would be to have Johnny Blaze transform only ONCE per episode. The less we see of the demon, the better.

There's either a New Warriors or Secret Warriors (I
forget which) character that uses a hellfire chain. This
character was introduced on agents of Shield this past
season.
I think it's unlikely Marvel would "waste" Ghost Rider
on ABC's Agents of Shield.
Ghost rider will be either Netflix or a movie.

And that character is the grandson of the Phantom Rider, who was actually the first Ghost Rider.

In the past few weeks Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) has openly put his name in for consideration to play 'Ghost Rider'.

I rather like that idea.  But it might be considered typecasting after all the time he has spent on a motorcycle on TV.

With rumors that Mephisto is going to be 'the big bad' in The Defenders and Dr. Strange opening up more mystic, occult pathways, the MCU looks ready to bring in Ghost Rider.

Hope Kevin Feige was listening.

A good Ghost Rider movie needs to happen.  Visually GR is one of the most striking characters I've ever seen on film.  It's when the fire goes out and Nick Cage's mug goes to work that things turn sour.

Ahhh, yes. It seems much more likely that this is what that promo is for.

Seems (seemed to me, anyway) like a big way to tease a character that is relatively unknown. How popular is/was he in the comics? I haven't read any Marvel in a looong time. I stick to the MCU, AoS, and Netflix for my thrills these days.

For the record, I'm 110% behind a Norman Reedus Ghost Rider show/movie/whatever.

I strongly disagree with the creative philosophy that the fewer cool and interesting things happen in an episode the better.

Agreed.  I tune in to see the hero.  Not the alter ego.

Yeah, I wouldn't watch Ghost Rider to not see him. I want to see him all the time!

To each his own. I think it kills the mystery and aura of the character.

One of the reasons I didn't care to see the Ghost Rider as part of a team in "The Champions" comic series, nor riding around in broad daylight in GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE.

I think he works best in small doses. At night.

I'd rather just watch a well-written show with no mandates on how many times he has to transform.

These comments remind me of the old Incredible Hulk or Shazam TV shows. The hero shows up intermittently for a brief time... the rest of the show was set up. Of course special effects are expensive.

A nice switch on that theme were Wonder Woman, or the Six Million Dollar Man. But they could be the heroes just standing on screen. You couldn't really justify the Hulk just standing and watching an argument...

Addressing Ghost Rider directly... I think he's a little too character driven (as opposed to theme- or story-driven) to work on AoS. And again, his character is a special effects lollapalooza. I think Netflix has the right idea with their line up of heroes... "street level", if you will, and not a lot of special effects required to show them just being on screen.

I was still kinda hoping for a pseudo-Avengers on AoS... Sif, Deathlok, Skye/Daisy, Mockingbird, maybe Clea. Well, one can continue to hope...

Ditto for me too. Those two need to come back.

That "spy's goodbye" scene was a tear jerker though.

Agreed. But, with the disavowment, perhaps that leaves room for Mockingbird to come back in costume with a mask? My wife and I have really been enjoying AoS. It isn't our favorite show on a week to week basic, but it is one we like to binge once we have collected 3 or 4 episodes.  We are looking forward to the new direction of this next season.

Apparently it is the version I have no familiarity with:

Gabriel Luna Will Play Robbie Reyes

Hmm. I'm actually OK with this. The recent version of Ghost Rider
works on Agents of SHIELD's budget, hopefully leaving Johnny Blaze
or Dan Ketch for films or Netflix. Hopefully the show acknowledges their
existence.

Hmm...My 666th post and it's about the Spirit of Vengeance. Spooky! ;)

Of course it probably shows how much Marvel comics have pushed me away from their books, in that I have absolutely no knowledge of this version of Ghost Rider.

Still I am intrigued to see how they finally start allowing magic in the MCU, before Dr Strange hits.

(Yeah I know there's Thor, but their super-science alien approach to Asgardians abilities took all the magic out of that..)

If he is in a car rather than riding a bike, shouldn`t he be `Ghost Driver`?

He ghost walks his fly fiery demon whip for all eternity in an off the chain no holds barred pursuit of vengeance.

So is this part of the Sony/Disney partnership on Spider-Man? They can use Columbia's license in TV shows?
