You have to blame Trump's camp for allowing Cruz to speak.
You probably shouldn't  expect an endorsement from someone after you call his wife ugly and accuse his dad of being involved with the JFK assassination.
Then Trump's people were given the speech by Cruz hours before confirming there's no endorsement!
Cruz even said he didn't think he would be invited to speak, and was ready to board a plane back to Texas.

I get what you are trying to say, but I'd argue that someone who'd exploit the racism in others in that manner is still pretty racist.

I guess it comes down to whether you believe racism is defined by one's actions or by their belief system.  If someone treats members of two races differently, not because he believes in any inherent racial differences but solely because he can personally gain from doing so (by exploiting the racism of others), is he a racist?

Why does no one actually try to interview Trump and ask the hard questions?

Trump - Why do you think it is OK to tell your staff to rough people up who speak out against you?
Why will you not engage in healthy debate, rather than changing the subject?
Why do you say you would prevent jobs going abroad and make companies bring jobs back to the USA when your company manufactures stuff in China?
Why did you buy steaks from down the road and slap a Trump steaks label on them and then say they came from your company?
Why did you do similar with Trump water?

Why can't you understand simple things like Scotland voted to remain in the EU?

The guy is a disaster waiting to happen. Through pure charisma and force of will, with a lot of avoid/change the subject, he gets off lightly. He gets to call people a liar? Seriously?

I used to think this was one big joke, but a few things have made me relalise we need to start to consider the possibility that he will win.

- Jeremy Corbyn won the Labour leadership by a landslide last year
- The UK voted to leave the EU
- The vast majority of Labour's MPs in the UK do not want JC as their leader but he will remain as he will win the vote through the party membership - a party membership that has swelled under his leadership and swung markedly to the left. A party membership that seems to be ignoring/supporting some really questionable views on Jews
- Trump has won the Republican nomination

The world is seriously off its axis politically. People who did not vote or take interest in politics are getting involved - that's a good thing. BUT, the decisions they are making. Oh man, are we in for a few years of pain.

Simple answer: the mainstream media nowadays seems crap for the most part.

Here in the UK, the likes of BBC and Sky News fawn over politicians. I am sure there are fawners in the US media, too.

Do they? I wouldn't say that is true of BBC 2's Newsnight or BBC Radio 4's Today programme. Indeed, the latter can irritate for its devils advocate approach even when the politician is clearly talking sense.

I thought the best response was the middle-aged woman stood at the side of the road with a large hand-painted sign. Not sure I can post what the sign said (google it) but it was simple and effective.

Totally agree, Leigh, but without uttering said word on this forum it's difficult to truly convey quite how funny this was.

While I think that a lot of the UK media don't give people a hard time, I will also agree that NEWSNIGHT and Radio 4 TODAY absolutely shred politicians when needed.

The day after Brexit, you had Evan Davies, head in hands, losing it with Dan Hannan over reducing migration numbers. See 2:09 in the clip below

And then there's this

Either he's dodgy or does seriously not do due diligence. Probably both

Apologies but the clip has a couple of ads at the beginning

Trump says he won't necessarily honour NATO obligations if he is President.

Things have been getting tense with Russia... and now Trump is suggesting the US could become an unreliable ally.

The man is a cardboard cut-out and I really do (seriously) question the intellect of anyone who thinks he has anything to offer other than slogans and spin.

I didn't want Trump's presence to scare me into voting for Hillary.  But as time passes I think I will give in.

And I fucking can't stand the Democratic Party for putting me in this position.
