Aw man. I still love to look at those ads that were on the back covers of comics that he drew. His was one of the first styles I recognized as a kid and I'd look for his signature on ads I thought were drawn by him. Thinking of the Rick Berry/ Dr. J Rawlings ad right now.

That man knew how to do cartoonish characters. His figures always had as much life and movement as they did Davis' style. RIP

Instantly recognizable work that I loved from EC thru all his great MAD magazine contributions.  I seem to recall reading that Wally Wood was particularly envious of Jack, who was apparently not only incredibly talented but also very fast and made it look so easy.  Hard to imagine the gifted Wally Wood being envious of anyone in those EC days, so high praise indeed.   RIP
