Hoping the group mind will remember the name of a book I've forgotten.

It's one I would have gotten it out of a public library sometime between 1977 and 1985 (although the book could have been older). It was a hardcover, and I think it had a few interior illustrations. It wasn't licensed like HOW TO DRAW COMICS THE MARVEL WAY or anything like that. The key thing I recall is that it talked about printing your own comics on a machine called a "hectograph." (Coming across that word today in an unrelated book started the trickle of memory that driving me crazy now - I haven't thought of this book, whatever it is, in 25 years.)

Any thoughts? Being unable to summon the name of the book is driving me crazy, like an itch I can't scratch.

I vaguely recall something called MAKE YOUR OWN COMICS FOR FUN AND PROFIT. All I remember was that there were some example of some 'circus romance/intrigue' strip from the '30s about an acrobat called'Corky The Arialist.'

Amazon lists a book by a Richard Cummings, Make Your Own Comics:  For Fun and Profit, with a publication date of 1976, although the "photo" of the book doesn't show the actual cover.  It's inexpensive, so it might be worth ordering a copy just to assuage your curiosity.
