Today John McCain cut ties with Trump but why was he ever aligned in the first place?
=============
McCain is desperate to stay in office. He is facing a tough reelection campaign and didn't want to alienate Trump supporters.

The rape victim that John M. Jackson is bringing up is a case that she had in 1975 as an attorney. Her client was an accused rapist of a 12 year old girl. She was assigned the case by a judge. She didn't "attack" the victim.

This is what the right does, the try to feed misinformation in hopes that no one will actually do a bit of research. When someone does find out the truth, they move on to the next lie.

As much as I loathe Trump, I don't think this latest hidden-audio debacle will hurt his presidential chances. For one thing, his lewd comments about women is not out of character. Everyone in the world knows he's a jackass. If they wanted to vote for him, it's not because he's the Dalai Lama. And the sexual conduct of an American president was lowered long ago by Bill Clinton. Bill on the campaign trail for Hilary serves to remind people of that.

Joe it isn't going to influence his supporters maybe. But those people who were still undecided is a different matter.

His diehard supporters will stick with him no matter what, but I can't see how the rash of GOP officials unendorsing and disavowing him won't hurt Trump's overall chances.

I knew Trump was an idiot when he decided the USFL should go head-to-head against the NFL in the fall.
Of course he did lead them in their plans to file an antitrust lawsuit against the NFL, which they won. And were awarded $3.

Please. That's a revisionist history of the Presidency as I've ever read. Kennedy anyone? And neither of them are the only ones to hold the highest office in the land and taken advantage of it with regard to sexual relations. Take a history lesson.

Oh my goodness, I'm having a discussion about Clinton and Trump with a former boss. Despite all the evidence I present about Trump. He still is defending him and is accusing Hillary Clinton of being apart of some Illuminati...... Oh help me please..

Tell him the Illuminati doesn't exist. There was a group once (Bavarian Illuminati, I think), but I doubt such an organization exists now. I seriously doubt it.
Anthony, some serious cognitive dissonance. I've sort of fallen out with an Australian friend. He's accused me of being PC when I mentioned that Trump mocked a disabled reporter and spoke disgustingly about women. Yeah, nothing to do with decency, I'm just PC.
Trump could blow up the moon and his supporters, including my Australian friend, would still defend it.
EDIT: Incidentally, and without thread drift, I have to say it's getting harder and harder to separate friends from their political views. This Australian 'friend' is, well, gonna have to think very carefully about a guy who accuses me of being PC and has defended EVERY act of that conman.

Tell him the Illuminati doesn't exist. There was a group once (Bavarian Illuminati, I think), but I doubt such an organization exists now. I seriously doubt it.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~``` Telling him it doesn't exist doesn't work on him. He said just look at the symbols on my money. So I approached it from the other way around. I told him to prove to me that they do exist and that conspiracy theories don't count as proof. He had nothing to say.

EDIT: Incidentally, and without thread drift, I have to say it's getting harder and harder to separate friends from their political views. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`` I'm trying to not look at people as the "enemy" just because we have different political views. But damn it is really hard to think of someone who supports Trump as a friend or at the very least someone i'd want in my life. With my former boss thankfully he isn't completely blind to Trump. In his case I think it's more that really doesn't like the Clintons. He doesn't think Trump is going to win the election. Which doesn't make him happy.
