Caught up. Although I understand that it could be defended as Chase "getting
in his head", I think that Oliver wouldn't admit to something like that if it didn't
have a grain of truth. So...I still hate it.

-----

I hated it as well, but at least Diggle called him out on it and said he was full of
shit pretty much right away, and Oliver seems to have gotten over it.

That and Artemis' bizarre heel turn were my two big issues for the season.
"You're a killer and I'm disillusioned so I'm going to join forces with a serial
killer to get back at you!" That's nonsensical, even accounting for her age.

Yeah, agreed. Artemis' motivations are bizarre to say the least.  I might have justified them had her "confession" when Ollie was being tortured by Chase been real, but they weren't so any other explanation is going to come with a ton of salt.  It's going to be incredibly hard to justify why she went all in with Chase given what she knows about both men.

Epic season finale, and one of the best episodes ever!
Segarra deserves a standing ovation (by the way, didn't he say something like "see you  on the boat" in the penultimate episode? Oh, boy).
And it was great having Manu Bennett.
The conversation between Oliver and Moira gave me the goosebumps.
Interesting and beautiful end of Malcolm.
Now I'm not sure which is my favourite season so far.

So, how are they all gonna survive?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My guess is that they went into the prison cells.
Unless they jumped in the water before the explosives detonated and managed to swim out a bit, that's the only thing I can think of....
John Barrowman has confirmed that Malcolm really is dead. Here's hoping that means Captain Jack pops up on Doctor Who at some point down the road.
Brian Fl: "John Barrowman has confirmed that Malcolm really is dead."
Which makes him a legitimate member of the Legion of Doom now. :)
It was a cliffhanger ending that didn't involve Ollie being in the cliffhanger, so I'm interested. So... how did they survive?
IDEA: As noted, they went into the catacombs/jail cells under the island.
IDEA: Similarly, they found this great big cave...
IDEA: Maybe that temple was sturdy enough? Or Chase just didn't want to blow up the temple?
COROLLARY IDEA: We saw explosives all over the island... on the perimeter. Maybe Curtis and Felicity managed to deactivate a small region of explosives as a safe zone? (This could be applied to any of the first three ideas.)
IDEA: Some metahuman solution to the problem? At one point, DC Comics indicated that metahuman powers developed in extremely stressful situations (thus giving Snapper Carr powers... crap!)
CHEAP COPOUT IDEA: They escaped on the Waverider.
But I have to admit, I'm really interested to see at least the beginning of the next season. But please, please, PLEASE - NO MORE FREAKING FLASHBACKS!!! I know it's the conceit of the Arrow series, but I am sick to death and back again of them.
Based on that last one, it would seem the flashbacks caught up to "real time" and I would think we're finished with them.
Oh, I wouldn't be surprised if they somehow drag out more flashbacks next season. By having something happen to Oliver while on his way home.
But I would love to see at least one season with no flashbacks before the series ends.
Yes.  Flashbacks are done insomuch as they concern Ollie in his time before Season 1.  The producers have said that doesn't mean there won't be any flashbacks, but that they won't be entwined as a narrative device in nearly every episode.
As to are they all gonna survive, my answer is no.  I agree (and said as much at the end of the episode) that they went to the bunker cells.  But I don't think you have that much destruction only to have everyone survive. My first guess is that Canary dies and is replaced by the evil Canary who has been reported to be coming back next season. Just a guess, but an easy swap.
The actors who play Black Canary, Wild Dog and Black Siren have all been added as regulars for the upcoming season, so it seems likely that the three of them will be amongst the survivors. As for the flashbacks, what the show runners have said is that the heavy use of them is done since they've filled in the five year gap but they will still use them from time to time when the story warrants doing so and that they wouldn't be limited to just Oliver.
I don't see them killing anyone relevant off.....except possibly Diggle. But I don't see that happening.
Thea can't die because it would make Malcolm sacrificing himself (even if he somehow turns up alive at some point) look meaningless.
Curtis has more or less replaced Felicity as the lovable geek, and he's the show's gay character.
Felicity is bulletproof. Too integral to the show.
As Christopher said, Black Canary, Wild Dog and Black Siren (dammit!) have been confirmed as regulars for next season. (I say `dammit!' because Katie Cassidy has already been on the show far too much since Laurel got killed off.)
Quentin I figure is bulletproof, just like Felicity.
Diggle's death could introduce some interesting twists, as his wife would be pissed off and most likely going after bad guys harder than before. A scary thought, since she's running Argus.
Slade dying would be no big deal, as Manu Bennett is tied up doing Chronicles of Shanarra, which is supposed to have a second season sometime this year. (But personally, if Shanarra gets cancelled after season 2, I'd love to see him pop up as a regular on either Arrow or LOT....or for Deathstroke to get his own show.)
Did I miss something or did they just completely drop the Vigilante subplot?  Not just drop it, but are completely ignoring that they brought the visored mystery man in to begin with?  The Adrian Chase storyline is over--with no resolution of that subplot.  If they were going to do something with it, they should have done it by now.
Chase was Vigilante. I'd say that storyline is finished.
So, I DID miss something?  Chase was Prometheus AND Vigilante?  I have a vague recollection (since he only appeared a couple of times) that Vigilante was somehow opposed to Prometheus.
The identity of Vigilante is supposed to be addressed in Season 6.
Chase and Vigilante were shown to be two different people on the show. Vigilantes identity has yet to be revealed and his storyline got pushed aside for the Prometheus stuff, but they did say that it was going to be addressed next season. What is confusing for some fans is that in the comics, Adrian Chase was the Vigilante, not Prometheus. I assume they made that change on the show to throw us off the scent.
The way showrunners seem to get attached to certain actors (see Katie Cassidy), I wouldn't be surprised to see the Adrian Chase actor show up under the mask of Vigilante!  And then there'll be a whole convoluted storyline explaining how whoever Prometheus really was stole Chase's life and the real Chase had to become Vigilante to oppose him, etc.
I have a feeling they might go that direction, but with a different actor playing the real Adrian Chase.
Do they like the actor enough? Then Vigilante is Earth-2's Adrian Chase. Easy solution.
Katie Cassidy is now engages, and Tyler Ritter (who played Billy Malone, and is John Ritter's son) and his wife just had their first baby.
