I loved his work. How does a guy die at 54? Way too young. A shame. Gone FAR too soon.
RIP

Shocked and really saddened to hear this - I loved his 2000AD work when I grew up - Mean Arena and the Dredd 'Werewolf' story being particular favourites - a great eye for dynamic shots and action.
RIP, Steve - you've left us far too early.

Very sad news. He was only a year older than me. I also remember his earliest UK work for Hulk Weekly and Doctor Who Weekly. I chatted with him at a convention back in 80/81 while he drew a sketch of Abslom Daak for me. He wasn't happy with it (hence no signature, just initials) and told me to see him again the next day. I did and he drew Princess Taiyin for me.
RIP Steve.

This is shocking. He was at the NYCC just a couple of weeks ago.
RIP Steve.

There are a number of instances where Steve Dillon's art greatly improved the quality of the book.
RIP Mr. Dillon

Loved his art. I always thought I could see some JB influence in his stuff, as well as Perez. yet uniquely his own.
He was definetely a "turn of the wrist" kind of artist, as JB has described himself.
