I'm not sure if he has many fans here but Steve Dillon has passed away aged 54. Personally I've known his work since 1980 when he used to draw back-up strips in Doctor Who Weekly in the UK. I went on to love his work on Preacher and Punisher with Garth Ennis. I loved his artwork and this seems like a truly young age to lose him. :(

That is sad news. Enjoyed his clean, accessible art.

I first encountered his art through this book:

Loved his run on Hellblazer. He was quite a talent. Died much too young.

A big loss. He always made it look so effortless. RIP Steve.

Huge talent. Can't believe he's gone.
Loved his facial work, simple clean lines. Brilliant on Hellblazer and
Preacher, but I grew up with him on 2000ad and Warrior.

Leigh - I've only just realised he drew Absalom Daak, Dalek Killer.
Terrific strip!
He will be missed.

I wasn't a big fan of his work but I think he was a talented guy. It's a friggin shame he was too young. Rest in Peace.

Jim - yes, so many cult characters that he had a major part in.

Shocking. He drew some of my favourite stories when I was younger - especially in Dr Who weekly

Enjoyed his Hellblazer. Wish he had worked on more projects I was interested in - though I wouldn't mind checking out that Punisher run.

Some of what he worked on I truly loved.  Some of what he worked on I truly didn't.  But that was always based on the writing.  His art was always brilliant.  RIP

Own everything he's done this side of the pond.
Thank, Steve!
I'll always be a big fan.
