It's a sad state of affairs when you can't believe (literally and figuratively) a single goddamned word that comes out of that mouth...

I can't believe someone who lies so damn much can actually have a strong following of people that BELIEVE IN HIM.

That's just a new level of stupidity to me.

A good buddy of mine, Republican, was so firmly against Trump during primary season. Said he was stupid, too dumb to be president, a liar, a racist, pretty much everything we’ve known him to be for the last 30-40 years. Now, according to my friend, he’s the greatest president our country has ever known.

Brian,

I am also astounded, simply astounded, at how many Republicans I have encountered over the last year who think Trump really is the GREATEST President we have ever had!

I have long thought Reagan would remain the contemporary favorite - following on the heels of Lincoln, as all-time favorite, but Trump has actually managed to surpass BOTH of these men with a significant chunk of the party faithful.

Reagan didn't have all the best words.

Let's remember that a lot of people are conditioned from an early age to think that maintaining belief in something, despite all evidence to the contrary, is actually a good thing ("faith").

I wonder if a lot of people love Trump so much as an extension of the "owning the libs" mentality. Nobody gets liberals stirred up like Trump, and so his supporters love him for that, just that.

Read this a day ago.

It sums up why folks (along with they hated that a BLACK MAN occupied the White House) 45's supporters lover him:

As someone smarter than me said...the base is too stubborn to admit they voted for a charlatan, too ignorant to realize climate change is already here, too cowardly to speak out against the caging of children, too fearful to walk into a diner without a gun, to blind to recognize their own racism, too ignorant to understand the difference between 'Democratic socialism' or 'fascism', too hateful to vote for anyone who dares offer hope to those who need it, too selfish to invest in the future, too indoctrinated to admit what they see and hear is not quite right.

Joe, I have to ask - is that a satirical site? Come on, it has to be right?
