For those of us keeping a scorecard:

Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was fired. Robert Mueller is digging deeper and might be in Trump's 'crosshairs'.

Meanwhile, according to Stormy Daniels' attorney, 6 more porn stars have come forward - 2 with NDAs - and Trump's lawyers are suing Daniels for $20 million.

Who would’ve ever thought that we would have a president that bangs porn stars and wants to fight space wars and we would still hate him?

He lost me forever when he pardoned those thanksgiving turkeys. I am for anyone who would say, "nope, I'm eating these birds!" You know why? Can we just say the truth finally? Nobody wants to pet turkeys! They go to a so-called petting zoo unlike millions of their kind and they usually stop breathing from having been bred for large chests anyway. If you can't get these little things in order...

President Trump supporters who vandalized Mosques arrested.

"Mommy, they buy their chicken to rape it".

Watch to the end where they start chanting "Trump, 2020!"

And the Pro-Trump song she sings at the end. Sigh.

“An American president does not lead the Free World by congratulating dictators on winning sham elections. And by doing so with Vladimir Putin, President Trump insulted every Russian citizen who was denied the right to vote in a free and fair election to determine their country's future, including the countless Russian patriots who have risked so much to protest and resist Putin's regime."

AZ Senator John McCain released the above statement today on President Trump congratulating Vladimir Putin on his “election” victory. How did this man ever lose to Bush Jnr.? How is every Republican not making a similar statement?

Because he has the hits to be a war hero, while the rest are simply
spineless and self-serving.

I would have voted for McCain in a heartbeat if he had won the nomination over Bush Jr. In fact, I was hoping he would.

I thought especially well of Senator McCain, but I was also in dread of the idea the he simply couldn't take the stress and strain of the presidency (a surprise to no one), and I feared that it wouldn't be much more than six months to President Palin.

I don't agree with McCain about as often as I do, but I definitely respect him. Choosing Sarah Palin would be one of those disagree things. If it had've been him against Al Gore where it was Bush Jr. though... but then I'd have preferred Bill Bradley to Bill Clinton, and who knows who his veep might've been. There's an alternative history earth for everyone I suppose. Maybe I'd like the one where Alexander Hamilton shoots Aaron Burr! :^)

Not according to our current president. War heroes aren’t captured in his ideas of the term.

I feel very strongly that McCain paved the way for Trump by choosing Sarah Palin as a running mate. He legitimized the anti-intellectual, anti-establishment, populist as a serious candidate for the modern Presidency, which Palin seemed to be running for, despite being the Vice-Presidential candidate. To my knowledge, McCain has never offered a formal mea culpa for this.

If I wanted a president who banged porn stars, I'd have done a write-in vote for Charlie Sheen....

I thought we were talking about when McCain ran for the nomination and lost it to Bush Jr. Not when he lost his mind and picked Palin as his running mate when he ran against Obama.

Worth a read (may be behind a paywall if you've used up your "quota" of views for that site in a particular month):

The problem with John McCain is he's a flip flopper - remember that term, they said John Kerry was. No one flips or flops like a Republican, and whatever manner of creature the orange Putin puppet is.

For every bold statement McCain makes, he either makes ten stupid ones or misses the opportunity to speak out. I admire his service and unlike the treasonist in the White House, greatly respect POWs - few braver than McCain. As a politician though, he lost me many years ago. When the Rove/Bush machine painted him as mentally unfit and fathering "black babies" and he remained with the party, I lost respect. When he had his second opportunity and allowed the party to foist a mental midget like Sarah Palin on him, derailing his run, I lost whatever was left of respect.

He says the right things occasionally now that he's near the end of his career and sadly his life, but even nowadays he will sit there and do nothing to change perspective in his party. The Democrats making noise will not make a difference, it will take brave people on the right to stand up to the NRA dependent idiots in the Republican party. McCain doesn't do enough, but then few do.

One of the biggest disappointments was his "questioning" of James Comey. Obviously he's not well, so I'll let him slide on that one, but a recent example of missing his mark. Great patriot and person, not a good politician or help to America's latest threats.

It's amazing the steep downward slope of the GOP. First they said, consider Potatoe qualified to be President. Then they said, now consider Palin. First they said, consider W to actually be President. Then they said... now here's RUMP!

Trump’s lead lawyer for the special counsel investigation, John Dowd, resigned. (According to people briefed on the matter, days after the president called for an end to the inquiry.)

This is a clear indication of how deep Trump is involved in the Russian scandal besides all the personal, salacious ones.

Thought - since the GOP got their crippling tax break and their stolen Supreme Court seat, what's in it now for them? One would assume that they all hate Trump as much as we do and were using him for their ill-gotten gains, plus a patsy to blame if everyone complained. But now? Anyone else think King Putin has dirt on GOP elite and they know about it? Given what was done in the election, not out of line to assume they hacked email and have dirt on all of them.

If this sounds far-fetched (it's not), then what other good explanation is there for supporting the treasonist in chief? It can't be fear of the base - the base isn't helping in the special elections.

Re: Dowd resigning - obviously it would seem he doesn't want to be part of this, but just as likely he's tired of wasting his breath on a client who doesn't listen, tweets taunts to the people investigating him daily, and likely doesn't even pay his legal fees.

After weeks of the White House denying reports that McMaster was out and being replaced by John Bolton, McMaster is out and being replaced by John Bolton. Accursed Fake News.

Trump's latest "win" - he signed a massive $1.3 trillion spending bill, hours after threatening a veto that would have triggered a government shutdown...  because it authorizes tens of billions of dollars in additional military spending.

Now he can get back to planning a preemptive strike against North Korea with his new buddy John Bolton before the Mueller indictments come down.

Well, at least you're supposed to have this great Bastille Day inspired U.S. military parade to look forward to, right? I mean, geez, who doesn't love a parade? Flags, hats, turkeys to pet...

So, Trump declares April to be National Sexual Abuse Awareness Month. Is this an April Fools’ joke? Is this so we’ll all be aware of what a lecherous piece of shit he his?

On Sunday’s "Last Week Tonight", John Oliver opened with an update on his (chilling) report last year about Sinclair Broadcast Group, explaining how they've forced local news anchors to read propaganda scripts written by the company... here's a "super-cut" of those messages:

Now this is really creepy.
