They probably already had his resume on file.

I can understand the power of opposition and the opposite viewpoint on an issue. Opposition has the power to spawn debate and accelerate discussion. However, Jeffrey Lord never argued or debated with the intention of presenting a viable and opposite viewpoint. It was plain to see he was only every interested in being objectionable and never part of healthy debate. Glad to see him gone as I felt CNN was only hurt by his presence.

Edit: Looks like the circumstances of his firing are rather dubious. It sounds like CNN was just looking to fire him for anything, but needed some kind of reason. Lord was garbage, but CNN did hire him and kept him around for a very long time.

I try to avoid absolutes, but here's one: never hire someone with a fucking Richard Nixon tattoo.  To do anything.  Jeffrey Lord should be living under a bridge and selling plasma to get by.

The man feels a deeply driven compulsion to lash out or take his toys
and go home, when things don't go his way.

What is it when the presidents and CEOs of corporations are more presidential than the President of the United States?

I try to avoid commenting this thread, because he's not MY president, but damn... what an absolute turd of a human being.

He's not your president, Petter, but his actions have ramifications for world relations. I mean, who'd want to do a trade deal with a nutball like that?

Who'd want a dignified and private conversation when there's a chance he'll tweet about it later on?
