Think about just how many Americans are letting this happen WILLINGLY.

******************************

Same exact thing happened in Germany in the 1930's.  Anyone missing or ignoring the parallels isn't paying attention.  Nearly everything he has done has matched or nearly matched what Hitler did.  Up to and including the "secret police".  (Remember what happened in Portland?)  And now he's actively trying to do away with the election, just as Hitler did.

He's going to have to be dragged out of the White House physically.  I guarantee it.

The parallels are feint.

Trump didn't have an equivalent to the brown shirts. He didn't burn down the Capitol. He didn't make other political parties illegal. He didn't have the army swear a personal allegiance to him. Though he's fond of using his executive powers, he hasn't pushed through anything equivalent to the Enabling Act. He already has all the enablers he needs in the Senate.

Trump's suppression of mail-in voting is part of the Republican's ongoing
effort to suppress the vote by reducing the number of polling venues and
gerrymandering counties to disenfranchise voters. They have been largely
successful - just like their constant attacks on Democrats as inherently evil,
this has been their standard and consistent effort. The Supreme Court
hypocrisy reveals they are purely opportunistic - the Republican party no
longer stands for any political philosophy because they their only means to win
is to create doubt about the truth and vilify their opponent in a kind of sick
national sporting event.

It appears the only thing Republicans dislike about Trump is his inability to use
dog whistles and coded language to conceal their true intentions. This
element to his personality further excites Republican white supremecists as
they love he "says what we're all thinking" (shudder), but I am hoping this
further exposes him to any swing voters. The ongoing efforts by Republicans
to appoint federal judges, appoint a Supreme Court judge last minute, and rig
the vote points to their essential necessity - the population is becoming more
diverse, and they will lose power as time goes on. They are not just trying to
change the vote, they are trying to change the rules so they stay in power, It's
how racists "won" reconstruction and kept the country in Jim Crow for so long.

I don't have any respect for Trump because the through line to all of his terrible
judgement is based on his one go-to move - he lies. The one quality that
makes me lose complete respect for someone. And now we see how lies are
used to divide us all and spread false health information that is literally killing
people.

I'd have to agree with all that, Tim. Purely opportunistic nicely sums up the key parts of the Republican party and their actions. I'm sure there are some moral, responsible, even idealistic, members of the Republican party, but they are so rarely heard and bereft of influence as to be effectively irrelevant.

And prodigious, compulsive lying is probably the most notable thing about Trump.

Meanwhile can you imagine what sort of female justice would take their SCOTUS seat literally over the dead body of only the second woman to serve at that level? What she would have had to intimate willingness to do in order to be afforded this great position? But hey, it's okay, as so many commentators have been sincerely commenting, Trump showed real respect toward R B-G the last few days. Geeziz! How does any woman even vote for this creep where he is going to be part of undoing most of her life's work. Trump is 'their guy'? All I can say is: Herman Cain, and to google an old photo of a black woman holding a sign that reads 'I Believe in Jim Jones'.

I still mostly see Mussolini in Trumpo, all he needs is to have psuedo-military costumes designed for himself. Successful businessman; so many tried to inform people on that four years ago, why does everyone close off behind little ghetto walls of various kinds? is it so much difficulty to pay attention, that this alone would be doing something... but then it's a huge imposition to expect people to wear a simple face mask during a historic virus outbreak... I guess if we're going to be such soft headed self-absorbed things we deserve a nasty fate? By the way, Oregon and Washington will be very welcome to join Canada after the collapse if it occurs, or Cascadia or whatever. Ha ha. :^|

Democrats need to vote in-
person and NOT by mail.
That's the only way to
prevent the supreme court
from deciding in Trump's
favour to stop counting
mail-in ballots.
That's it. Vote in-person
or face 4 more years of
Trump as president.

Yep, that’s the scenario now.

But he will dispute it anyway, & the Supreme Court will give it him
anyway.

You now have four more years - & let’s face it, he WILL try to extend
beyond the two term limit, so who knows how many years after.

& then it will be Ivanka.

Remember when the makers of Game Of Thrones proposed a series for HBO about a ‘what-if’ scenario where the south won the Civil War?

Remember the outrage at a series supposedly propagating the notion that White Supremacy was being normalized enough to become entertainment?  So much so that the idea for the show was scrapped and hasn't been mentioned again?

Looks like real life laughed and said “Hey, hold my beer....”

There are already die-hard Trump supporters on Facebook calling vote by mail `voter fraud'. Not a system that could be used to commit fraud, but outright calling mail-in votes fraudulent.

I find it interesting that a website devoted
to a comic book storytelling master has become
so politically charged that these are
generally the only topics that trend here.
Over the last four years, HALF of the forums
membership has been made to feel uncomfortable
and driven away. Where I used to post 3 to 5
times a day, discussing all manner of topics.
Now, I'm lucky if I visit once a month.

What was once a fun site, full of debate, has
turned into an echo chamber of hate towards
Trump. At worst, we get this man for another 4
years. As I've mentioned, I didn't vote for
him. I look at the Republican Party and see
three makor events in my lifetime where the
people's best interests weren't served;
Lobbyists, NAFTA and THE PATRIOT ACT. I refuse
to give any more ground to bigger Government
and both sides are guilty.

I look at the Democrats and their support for
Antifa and BLM, both organizations self
proclaiming to be followers of Marxism. I look
at the lock down still going on in California
and the mass exodus of people from that state.
I fear Facists taking control, but I think
many of you better look to your side of the
aisle for the current problems. Trump isn't
the savior many make him out to be and he
isn't the devil you'd think him to be either.
He can be both an idiot and a criminal
mastermind. You have to make up your mind.

But, more to the point, I hope some day this
forum becomes about comics again. I've grown
tired of seeing Patriotism being exchanged for
paranoia on both side and that paranoia being
fed by what we call the media; CNN, MSNBC, The
networks and yes, even FOX NEWS.

“I hope some day this forum becomes about comics again“

Have you seen the Fan Fic section? Or the Sports, Movies, TV, Star Wars, Star Trek and Music sections? This thread is politically charged, but not the entire website by a long shot.

@David,

I remember the shitstorm about that proposed series.

And yet, here we are.....

When it comes to political scenarios happening in life. It's not IF they can happen. It's WHEN.

Let's see where America's head and heart is come November 3rd.
