"He would just be pulling vertebral joints apart not actually breaking the vertebrae." ****
[sarcasm font] You mean an adamantium skeleton doesn't render Wolverine impervious to soft tissue damage? Well, at least he can put his head right back on his shoulders and it will heal right back up, [end sarcasm font]
I prefer the Wolverine of my youth.

Fantastic!!! I really like seeing the pencils before they are erased. Not as much pencil as I would have thought!
Great to see this as I re-read the HULK and WOLVERINE runs in the JB Omnibus that was released this past year. Both are really strong runs, and they really hold up well.

On a slightly related note, hate the fact that movie rights mean we're unlikely to see Wolverine versus Hulk in a live-action battle.
Marvel, how did you ever allow your characters to end up at so many different studios?

Beautiful piece!
Things do not look like they're going to end well for Wolverine.

At the risk of being impudent, it seems the Hulk has two left hands.

"Since we are talking about his adamantium, should he be able to do that?

He should be able to. He would just be pulling vertebral joints apart not actually breaking the vertebrae.

Which immediately made me think of this panel, drawn by some charming fellow:

Speaking of potential Wolverine death scenarios, I was thinking about a scene Chris Claremont had in a post-JB issue of UXM (#177) - where Mystique was running a simulation on how to kill the X-Men. In Wolverine's case, in the middle of a tussle with him, she simply slit his throat, with the explanation that he was bleeding out too fast for his healing factor to catch up.
You know what, I just found the page online - why not revel in this beautiful John Romita Jr-inked by John Romita Sr artwork in the process?
Anyway, thoughts on this?

Vinny, since that was just a simulation , I would say the programming and Mystique both had it wrong about Wolverine .

Nice to see a commission piece with the pencil lines left in. I'm a big fan of seeing the "process"... the layers make up the art.
Congrats to the owner!

This is Claremont-town. Here, no man may ever defeat a woman. He would be fool to try for she will repay his efforts in kind and thereby gain her heart's desire. Her power is a song within her.
