Back in August, South Louisiana had its
worst flood on record. As I mentioned in a
previous post, I lost everything: Home,
cars, furniture and 33 years of comic
collecting. At my age, this is no longer
about financial gain but just wanting the
stories I loved and hoping to pass these
onto my son, should he want to collect.
So, I'm building a collection of trades.

I'm starting with the 80's. This is the
decade I stated collecting with and want
to require the stories and runs that
defined that period. I'm asking you fine
folks to help fill in anything I've
missed. So, please, if you can think of
anything, let me know.

I would include DeFalco/Frenz on Amazing Spider-Man and maybe the O'Neill/Mazzuchelli Daredevil's as well.

Michelinie/Bright/Layton on Iron Man would make my list also.

I'd add Mike Grell's Jon Sable: Freelance to the independents list and probably Alien Legion to Marvel/Epic.

I recommend the following in Trade form...

Fantastic Four Visionaries by Byrne #0,1-8 (most of these are OOP, but can get on eBay)
Fantastic Four Visionaries by Perez #1,2
X-Men Dark Phoenix Saga
X-Men Days of Future Past

Also, in Hardcover...

Fantastic Four In Search of Galactus
Fantastic Four The Overthrow of Doom

Those are solid lists. I personally enjoyed X-Men thru 200 or so, early New Mutants, and the post Crisis Justice League for awhile. I also really like the Brave and Bold Aparo stuff.
