Some of these are 'little known' because they weren't interesting enough to remember...

True. A comic shop owner used to play football, while little known, isn't all that an interesting fact and only tangentially "about comic books" Though I did buy comics from that shop many years ago.

How can I phrase this without getting into trouble?

Since the rise of the Direct Sales Market in the Seventies, I've seen increasing instances of the retail level being considered part of the creative level. The retail level is of immeasurable importance, obviously, but this strikes me as akin to awarding an Oscar for theater management.

I guess it was inevitable. Fans seem to think they're part of the creative level too.

I can't stand web features that make you click for each item - it's beyond annoying.  I gave up on this one pretty fast.

Among the myriad pleasures of reading old comics fanzines are the frequent letters declaiming along the lines of, "My criticisms of [Comic Book X] are well-known, having been detailed at length in a letter to [Fanzine Zero], so I need not go into them here; I am pleased the creators have wisely paid attention."

As I have mentioned before, I have often been surprise by the know-it-all fans who in fact know nothing. Who have no comprension of lead time, for instance!
