What's interesting to me is that even though there are a few modern writers on there, I can't find any modern artists in the top 100 (defining "modern" as having their first published work after 1990). It's a good representation of how inconsistent comic art is now. With some exceptions, you rarely see artists drawing 30, 40, 50 consecutive issues the way people used to.

Stan Lee is listed as having written 33,956 pages (second only to Roy Thomas) and 3,973 stories (first) and the vast majority of those are over 40 years old! Just imagine if Stan hadn't taken a step back from the comics side of the business in the 70's!

I had heard that Gaylord DuBois was the most prolific comic book writer, writing over 3,000 comics like Tarzan, The Lone Ranger, and just a large number of westerns and funny animal comics, etc.  Maybe he's not quite at the top, but his total absence seems suspect.  I would think that some of the Archie crew would be up there too.

Dan DeCarlo drew 99 pages for Archie? Maybe in two months. The website is correct when they say some publishers are underrepresented. Looking at DeCarlo's individual page, it is pretty empty.

Sal did alot more inking than John and was working more than John in the
1990 and still does work in the 21st century. Since they aren't including pre-
60's work I can see Kirby would be much higher. For Big John Buscema I would
add 2500 pages for his work in the 50s. He left to do commercial work in the
in the late 50s and early 60s before Stan brought him back to Marvel.

I'm surprised Steve Ditko's page count is so low.

I think they should have separated penciller and inkers but I'm happy to see Tom Palmer did so much work!

Truth to tell, I wish my numbers were much lower. A good deal of my output was generated in the Eighties, when I unconsciously ignored Stan Lee's dictum to "never give the fans what they think they want" and tried to provide the amount of product being demanded.

The work suffered*, and much of the seemingly unending mantra of "his old stuff was better" was born in that period. And, in that period, it was true.

If you click on the link in the first post, the page includes a dropdown that also lets you select penciller or inker.
