Here is a link to a site that lists the most prolific comic creators based on number of pages produced. There are several searches as per Writer, Artist, Inker, etc. JB is high on the list in all listings which I found amazing, but was not really surprised. http://www.dcindexes.com/features/creator.php?page=topcreato rs

That Kirby count seems low.

The site mentions that some totals are lacking before 1960 because they were not recorded or available. Also many of the 40 and 50 stories were very short as per the Atlas Monster stories so that may be why JK seems a little low. It is good to see JB near the top..

Hm. For some reason, I don't think of John Buscema as having done more penciling work than Sal or JB. I guess there are probably a lot of Conan issues I'm not taking into account.

Clicking on a creator's name on that website will open up a list of stories the creator worked on. JB's IDW stuff isn't taken into account for the list.

Many creators, even after 1960, didn't receive credit or used pseudonyms. The Guiness Book of Records once credited Paul S. Newman as the most prolific comics writer, with about 36,000 pages. Most folks don't know him because he worked for Western Publishing (branded as Dell or Gold Key), co-creating Doctor Solar and writing many issues of Turok, Son of Stone; among others, but didn't receive credit for many years.

I'm surprised Geoff Johns is as high as he is. I know he writes a lot for DC but he's still relatively new to the game. It feels like someone like Mark Waid, who's been prolific for a longer time, would be much higher than Johns.

That's because Vinnie Colletta erased so much of his pencils....

Osama Tezuka produced about 170,000 pages of content, and he was both writing and drawing most of them.

This is a great resource as far as page counts from American superhero comics from the Silver Age onward, though.

Those counts are representative of the data in the database and should not be confused with or substituted for reality.
