Hi, Jenny McCarthy.

••

As I recall, McCarthy is so well versed on the topic, she was at one point claiming her son had "outgrown" his autism.

Autism is very scary. Most of the time, it is NOT "fun," like Abed on COMMUNITY. Currently in this country we are experiencing an "epidemic" of autism -- but rather than being "caused" by vaccines, as the fear-mongers would have it, what is really happening is better and earlier diagnosis. Kids who were once dismissed as "retarded" are being reclassified, and the numbers of autistic cases is growing accordingly.

Extract from Trump's last speech

"What's happening last night in Sweden"...

Interesting grammar !

It didn't help that the news was reporting a huge increase in the diagnoses of autism cases.

The thing most failed to report was that autism is now considered a spectrum, not a specific condition. Asperger's disorder, childhood disintegrative disorder, and even ADHD are or have been considered part of the autism spectrum. No wonder diagnosed autism cases skyrocketed.

Of course, this just added fuel to the anti-vaccination fire.

We really need logic classes in high schools.  And they need to cover the fact that correlation does not imply causation early and often.

Some of the most promising new developments in cancer research involve using HIV virus to deliver an organism that eradicates cancer cells. While the treatment might not cure or remove your cancer it is impossible to get HIV from the treatment. How long will it be before anti-vaccine believers start claiming that cancer treatment causes AIDS?

It's so odd that the political movements most hostile to the teaching of evolution are also the most eager to reintroduce the forces of biological Darwinism itself upon the population.

Is he really climbing on this legless horse?
****
He is climbing on to many legless horses, so this shouldn't come as a surprise. The only way he works is if he keeps that small minority that voted for him riled up about something and he promises to change it. I think his administration will run out of gas soon.

Here is hoping Fredric Wertham doesn't have any relatives that want to meet with Trump.
