In the interest of accuracy. Why not just select your top five movies based on Marvel Comics?   Since it is suppose to be based on Marvel Comics. I think it's safe to assume that it doesn't need to have come just from a Marvel Studio film.   Also Wolverine is either a sixth choice or honorable mention.

I think it's right there in the title of the thread and the original post... nowhere does it specify Marvel Studios films only.

To me, any Sony or Fox films were fair game.

Avengers
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Big Hero Six
Captain America: Civil War
Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Alphabetical. I might have a different list if I made this tomorrow.  It feels a bit odd to include those two Cap movies, since I kind of hate that the comic arcs they're based on were ever written. But I love Cap and Chris Evans' performance enough to kick them into top five status. I know a lot of people didn't like AoU, but, gosh, I did.

If I had more space I world have included the other Cap films. I really enjoyed all of them. Not perfect adaptations of the character but pretty close. If I could insist on changing one thing and it would happen. I would change Cap's costume. He would be wearing his classic costume. Not this modern version.

To clarify: I deliberately said "based on Marvel comics" to include every movie that is based on a Marvel comic, and not just produced by Marvel Studios.

Adding Fox or Sony wouldn't have changed my list at all.

Petter also said "live action" so does that omit BIG HERO SIX?

It's more the title of the thread. MARVEL in capital letters I've often seen being used to distinguish the Marvel Studio films from ones just based on their comic characters.

Petter: Thanks very much for clarifying it for me. Ok allowing that's it's definitely any film with Marvel's comic characters then:-

Avengers
Iron Man
Dr Strange
Amazing Spider-man 2
The Directors cut of The Wolverine

Understood. My Top 5 just happened to be Marvel Studios movies.

DEADPOOL almost made it, though....

In no order:

IRON MAN
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER
CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR
THE AVENGERS

Though I wouldn't be surprised if GUARDIANS 2 nudges THE AVENGERS
off that list.

Whoops! I forgot about the "live action" stipulation.

On my list, please replace BIG HERO 6 with the first IRON MAN.

Iron Man
Avengers
Captain America: First Avenger
Guardians of the Galaxy
Ant-Man

I'll note that I have yet to see Dr. Strange. I think almost every Marvel production movie surpasses the best non-Marvel movie. There are a few other I have no wish to see, including the FF movies and Deadpool.

In order:

Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Iron Man
Captain America: The First Avenger
The Avengers
Spider-Man 2

In fact, I think CA:TWS breaks into my all time top 10. It
should have gotten an Oscar no for adapted screenplay.
