A slew of official photos dropped today for the upcoming film, including first looks at Thor. Grandmaster and Hela.

Thinking we have to be getting close to an official poster and trailer (although I wouldn't be surprised if they released the trailer along with GotG2).

What can I say, I'm even more pumped for this.

Ragnarok is certainly a big gun Thor storyline with cinematic potential (I've enjoyed the several iterations I read from the comics) and Cate Blanchett is always exquisite.  Nothing against the lovely Natalie Portman, but I'm kind of glad it seems Jane Foster isn't in this outing as she sucked some of the energy from the last one.  Still, I dunno; I have fatigue with this franchise and Goldblum is hard to get behind.  Also, as much real estate damage as a Thor v. Hulk confrontation promises, I wonder if this is one of those fan dream matchups best left unexplored.    I hope I'm wrong and it's great!

I LOVE Cate Blanchett - I agree with the use of the word "exquisite" to describe her!  However, I don't love ANY of the official photos released today for the upcoming THOR film, including the photos of Cate as Hela.

I don't recognize any of these actors as THOR characters*... sigh.

Not a fan of the "Unworthy Thor" look they are using, but I think Cate
will be fine as Hela if they get the headdress on her. They've been
using it on the concept art, so I'm hoping to see her with it in the movie.

Yikes... hoping for the best with this one, but much like the first two THOR films, the pics still scream a little too much like "SyFy TV production" for my taste.

Can't ANY of them look like their comic book counterparts??

Grandmaster is a fair approximation.  And Hela, if she puts on the headdress will be pretty close.  Nothing is spot on, but nothing is completely outside the realm of what has appeared in the comics yet, except possibly Valkyrie.  Has it been confirmed that she's supposed to be Brunhilde?  I'll have less problem with it if she's just supposed to be a Valkyrie, as opposed to the Valkyrie we're used to from the comics.  Dani Moonstar gives comic precedent for a non-Nordic Valkyrie.

Thor looks terrible! Or at least, no longer anything like Marvel's Thor.

This is NOT Marvel's Walkyrie.

I see Sam Neill listed as a cast member on www.imdb.com but there's no character name. I didn't even know he was in this. Anyone know who he may be playing?

-----------------------------------------------------
He's said publically that he's not allowed to say who he's playing.  There's a rumor going around the internet though that he's playing the Trader. If true, presumably, with the Collector in GotG, Ego in GotG2, and Grandmaster confirmed in Ragnarok, they're setting up the Elders as future, post-Thanos villains.

Hhhmm. Based on the beard he's been sporting, I would have guessed the Gardener, if he's playing an Elder.

My money is on Neill playing Mentor, father of Thanos. Probably 1000% wrong on that one, though.

Another thoroughly depressing thread for me to ignore!

THOR is easily becoming the worse of the Marvel Studios franchises.

As JB said, so depressing!

I liked the first THOR, the second less so, although in both cases, I generally thought Hemsworth looked like Thor, even if it wasn't a direct adaptation of any of the comic costumes.

These pictures don't do anything for me at all. Hemsworth doesn't look like he's in full Thor mode at all.

Chris Sims-worth. Looking a bit undersized. That's EW cover looked as bad as X-Men apocalypse.  The set photos looked depressing. But set photos with no lighting, etc. often do. I'm sure once the trailer comes out it will look at least as good as age of ultron.

Okay that looked like it's going to be a fun movie.

Glad to see Hela with her headdress, but she looks weirdly CGI in
those shots.

Bit heavy on the GotG vibes, but yeah, I'm excited for this. Opening night in IMAX for sure.

Led Zep's 'Immigrant Song' is long overdue to be tied with Thor!

Hela looked badass and rather scary. The headdress was so Kirby it hurt .....along with the armor and costumes of the various characters.

"YES!  he's a friend from work!"  Hysterical!

This might be the biggest (non Avengers) year for the MCU yet.

Could they have 3 billion dollar releases in a year!?

 GOTG is nearly a shoe-in.

Spider-Man: Homecoming could do it on name recognition, anticipation and positive reviews.

Thor: Ragnarok is a long shot for a billion....but what if it is really entertaining and surprising in the same way Guardians was?

Amazing.

The first two THOR films:  Easily my two least favorite Marvel Studios films.

This RAGNAROK teaser:  To my eyes, easily the greatest Marvel Studios teaser trailer ever.*

I had my doubts... but this looks exactly what I was hoping for.  Need to see this right now.

(*But then, "Immigrant Song" from Led Zeppelin would make any trailer 100 times better!)

Good teaser! Still not sold on the film though. The he's a friend from work line is brilliant, and the Zep groove works wonders for the trailer, but still no idea if this will be any good.

The teaser at least makes me feel more positive toward the film than I did previously after seeing stills.

Oh I'm excited about this one! Love the teaser and the feel that it gives me.  I really look forward to seeing what else happens building off of what we have here.

Hmm, I liked most of the trailer except the "He's a friend from work" line. Cate Blanchett looked amazing, though admittedly I'm not that familiar with the source material.

Decent trailer; I like Hela.  Still not sure about the movie.
