More sad new passing of another great artist today, Berinie Wrightson. He
had been battling cancer over the last few years. I met Bernie last year at
SDCC, he was pretty weak but had a smile for everyone who came by his
table. He did some of my favorite comics including Swamp Thing alot with
teaming up with Stephen King for the Stand portfolio and before that a
great Frankenstein portfolio. I was lucky to see some of the original art used
for the Frankenstein portfolio at Guillermo del Toro: At Home with Monsters
at LACMA. A fantastic artist, someone you won't see the likes of again.

This is my only pieces of Wrightson art published in National Lampoon. I
absolutely love the brush work.

Was lucky enough to meet Wrightson along with Dave Stevens at a very poorly attended Con in Pasadena, CA in 2003.  Such nice guys and incredible talents!  Really bummed that we won't see their likes again.
