It's a fine image, but you've done better than that for sure.

I came across it as well on an ice cream truck when I was doing work in Belfast, Northern Ireland this past summer:

"Fine" it ain't! Learn from my mistakes, peoples! The pose ("gesture" to artists in the room) is stiff and unnatural, and totally lacking in any sense of dynamic movement. The foreshortening is terrible!

I plead the ignorance of youth!!

I get what you are saying, JB, but visceral level, I still find that Wolverine image so damn cool. And I am not alone, obviously, considering how much it is used.

Artists are typically their own worst critics, and while you definitely grew as an artist, there was just something to your work from the very beginning that stood out to us fans. It's not nostalgia alone that makes us continue to admire the older work along with the newer art.

Now THAT I can get on board with. I'm so peeved that the Wolverine#17* cover hasn't become the "official" JB Wolverine image for merchandising purposes.

*With a very close second for Wolverine#23 - I still have a T-shirt of that one from 1990.

Dammit, I want that glass.

I'm glad to be wrong, though!

That Wolverine busting through the wall image has one thing on 98% of Wolverine drawings- the claws are the right shape.

I wonder why Marvel hasn't "corrected" those?
