I really like the concept of this game. I know i'm not likely to guess anyone correctly. My memory isn't what it use to be. When I eventually make my contribution to the game. I'm afraid i'll have to cheat a bit as well. I have absolutely no recollection what was my first comic. So It will have to be which is the earliest I can recall getting.

Okay, I have decided to "cheat" a bit on this, since my first comics were British, and most of the Forum would not have any chance of guessing what they were. So here's my first AMERICAN comic:

Batman (thinks): A -- A new Batman and Robin team! Robin's grown up and become Batman -- with a new boy as Robin!

Blurb: Featuring "RIP VAN BATMAN!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was looking at cover references online a couple of days ago.
The rip van Batman rings a bell. JB I'm fairly certain the Comic was a Batman comic. Not Detective comics. The number isn't so clear in my memory it's in the 100's I believe. I can't picture anymore details in my minds eye.
Since my first issues were bought in a pack, the blurbs were:
Despero Means Danger in "Battle At the Edge of Forever!"
and
Superboy Fights "the Wildest Weather In the World!"/Hawkman and Hawkgilr Battle the I.Q.Gang!/Wonder Woman Goes On A Rampage!
I've mentioned before that my parents bought comics for me sporadically for a few years before I really jumped in with both feet. The large amount of text on the first comic I can recall reading makes it almost a dead giveaway; The caption for the one that really set things in motion for me is slightly more obscure...
"From the Ashes of the Old... A NEW Team Shall Be Born!"
Michael Casselman's are covers I can bring to mind, but I'm fuzzy on the issue numbers. Justice League of America #134 or thereabouts, guest-starring Supergirl, and Four-Star Spectacular # 3 perhaps? There were only six issues, and if I'm not mistaken the sixth issue featured a cover of Superboy vs. Krypto, so it would have to be one of the others.
There wasn't any text on the cover of my first issue, but there was a pretty memorable blurb along the bottom:
GALACTUS AT BAY!
