Hi JB!
I did search, so I hope this isn't something that's been brought up before -
A friend of mine was telling me about Jim Shooter's 'character creation incentive' he put in place at Marvel, and it was the first I'd heard of it.
He says Shooter came to you and asked if you had any new characters to add to Alpha Flight (during the creation of the team) and you added Puck and Marrina so you could take a part in the new incentive.
You got a bonus for creating those characters and a small % of any money that might come n down the road for the use of those characters in other media.

I hadn't ever heard of this and was wondering if you could shed some light on the subject - thanks!

When it came to spending Marvel's money, final authorization had to come from higher up the corporate ladder than Shooter. Mike Hobson, for instance.

The rest is more or less accurate.
